Our team has done extensive research on the subject of worker health and productivity, specifically on disability, POPP screening, and return to work. Some of our specific projects include:
- Using ergonomic interventions to treat injured employees to allow them to safely return to work
- Determining predictors of upper extremity symptoms among newly-hired workers
- Effectiveness of POPP screening for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
In addition, we have collected a group of researches and clinicians interested in various aspects of worker health and safety, workplace productivity, and use of the workplace as a venue to recruit low income and minority research participants for health studies (particularly studies of health behaviors) called the Workplace Health and Productivity (WHAP) research interest group. The group meets regularly to discuss current and future projects.
