Worker Safety and Health

Our team is very interested in studying worker safety and health. Specifically, we have conducted studies on the following:

  • Identifying activities that require high physical demands and implementing tools and work methods to lower risk of injury in construction workers
  • Safety climate in construction workers
  • Understanding important aspects of carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Decreasing falls at residential construction sites through training designed for the Carpenters’ District Council of Greater St. Louis and Vicinity
  • Determining prevalence and cause of Parkinson’s disease in welders
